"I truly value the team I work with—they're like family to me."
ーー What inspired you to work at SG Group?
When I was 18, I read an article about Shingo Gokan winning the Bacardi Legacy World Championship, which completely shifted my perspective on bartending. Inspired, I decided to pursue a career in this field, moving from Iwate to Tokyo at the age of 20 to work in a Ginza bar. After a year of immersing myself in the industry, I traveled to New York to visit "Angel’s Share" and meet Gokan in person. I was truly moved by the artistry of the cocktails and his approach to bartending, so I took a chance and asked him directly if I could join his team. By January 2018, I was a part of SG Group, and just a few months later, in June, I had the privilege of joining the founding team for The SG Club.
ーー What is your current role and responsibilities?
I’m currently the bar manager at The SG Club, where I lead our team and oversee several critical areas. My responsibilities include quality control, developing new menus, and training our staff.
ーー What is important to you in your work?
While maintaining a broad perspective, I stay focused on the task at hand and find joy in growing through my work as a bartender. I truly value the team I work with—they’re like family to me. Together, we achieve our best through shared strength."
ーー What makes SG Group attractive?
SG Group is an incredibly dynamic team. Each member brings their own strengths, so whenever we set out to create something new or improve on existing ideas, the speed and quality of the outcome are truly impressive. It’s a place where innovation thrives, and the results are consistently exceptional.
